In an effort to embrace a truly natural approach to lighting,Philips took a cue from fireflies and deep-sea creatures to create a (literally) green light powered not by electricity or sunlight, but by glowing bacteria.Philips tasked itself with creating a lighting system driven by the wastes typically generated in the average home. To feed the bacteria housed in the bio-light's unusual hand-blown glass compartments, methane - which could generated by the MH kitchen's bio-digester unit from kitchen vegetable waste - is piped in through thin silicon tubes connected to a reservoir at the base.

Tech Article 18/11

Google opened an online music store and a free Web storage locker on Wednesday for listening to tracks from computers, tablets and phones, the company announced at a news conference in Los Angeles.The music store sells songs and albums for prices close to iTunes and Amazon MP3, but Google's catalog is smaller. The storefront can be found in the Android Market, an application and website where Google smartphone users can download apps.It seems really cool and cant' wait to try it.

1st marking period

The first marking period ended Wednesday November 9. For web 2.0 it was very fun and interesting to learn about. Mr. Porfido showed us different websites for essay and research. I think i could of have done better though.

4 day week-end

This week I had a four day weekend because of a teachers convention. This weekend I went to little ferry, I cheered for a football game in saddle brook, and study for an English test. At the football game we played Saddle Brook and won. Since we won were going to the super ball.

Barnes and Noble is charging the new nook tablet at $249.00it is a lightweight tablet optimzed for reading e-books, streaming movies and browsing the Web. It will compete with amazons new Kindle Fire.B&N's Nook Tablet will be available in its stores on Nov. 17,the 7-inch tablet offers a more powerful processor and twice the storage capacity of Amazon's rival.
